Trace it to the source
Water runs downhill before it drips, so the wet spot is rarely under the leak. Common culprits are windscreen and rear window rubbers, door seals, and blocked drain channels. On a dry day, have someone run a hose over each area in turn while you watch from inside.
Fix the cause, not the symptom
Resist the urge to smear sealant everywhere — it traps water against metal and hides the real problem. Replace the failed rubber, clear the drain holes in the doors and sills, and make sure new seals seat evenly on clean, rust-free flanges.
